Two barmen are due to go on trial tomorrow for the manslaughter of a British man who died from acute alcohol intoxication.
The landmark prosecution against Gary Wright and Aidan Dalton is listed to begin in Nenagh, Co Tipperary tomorrow. It is the first case of its kind under the liquor liability laws here.
Wright, 34, a bar manager at Hayes Hotel in Thurles, and Dalton, a 29-year-old barman, are charged with unlawfully killing hotel guest Graham Parish.
Mr Parish, from Calder Terrace in Lomeshaye village near Nelson, east Lancashire in England, was staying at the hotel when he died of acute alcohol intoxication on July 1, 2008.
