Christmas opening hours for HSE Drugs and Alcohol Helpline

The HSE Drugs & Alcohol Helpline is a confidential service that has both a freephone Helpline (1800 459 459) and an email support service (helpline@hse.ie).

The HSE Drugs & Alcohol Helpline provides support, information, guidance and referral to anyone with a question or concern related to drug and alcohol use and/or HIV and sexual health. The service is non-judgemental and offers space to talk about your situation, to explore some options and to consider your needs. During calls/ emails, staff refer to a database of over 400 services nationwide.

This helpline will be open on the following days over the Christmas period:

  • Mon 23rd Dec 9.30am to 5.30pm
  • Tues 24th Dec 9.30am to 2pm
  • Closed Christmas Day
  • Closed St Stephens Day
  • Fri 27th Dec 9.30 to 5.30pm
  • Mon 30th Dec 9.30am to 5.30pm
  • Tues 31st Dec 9.30am to 5.30pm
  • Closed New Years Day
  • Thurs 2nd Jan 9.30am to 5.30pm
  • Fri 3rd Jan 9.30am to 5.30pm.

 Regular opening hours (Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 5.30pm) will resume on Monday 6th Jan.
