NUI Galway has accused “some pubs and clubs” of behaving “very irresponsibly “ in “deliberately targeting students” with low-cost alcohol promotions.
The university says it intends to object to future licence applications sought by such establishments in Galway following this week’s unofficial “rag” or “social week”, which resulted in about 30 arrests for public order offences.
The university said it condemned “unequivocally any anti-social behaviour” by its students.
