Drink driving is no longer socially acceptable in Ireland but what about driving while under the influence of medicines?
Are you taking prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medication?
The effects of certain drugs can last for some time after use and can result in side-effects including slower reaction times, poor concentration, sleepiness, distorted perception and over-confidence.
If you're taking prescription or OTC medicines you must be sure your ability to drive is not affected.
