HSE Dublin Mid Leinster publishes Regional Service Plan 2012

The HSE Dublin Mid Leinster (DML) Regional Service Plan 2012 was presented at a meeting of the Regional Forum today Tuesday, February 21.

Public representatives were briefed by Mr. Gerry O’Dwyer, Regional Director of Operations, HSE Dublin Mid-Leinster and the Regional Management Team, on plans for health service delivery for the region this year.

In line with the HSE National Service plan, published on 16th January 2012, the HSE DML Regional Service Plan,has been prepared in the context of the challenges being faced throughout this year.The challenges include; reducing staffing levels, budget reductions combined with an increasing demand for services, the Public Sector Moratorium.

Included in the HSE National Priorities for 2012 for Social Inclusion are to:

  • Implement / co-ordinate a range of national social inclusion strategies and policies. These include actions in
    areas such as addiction services, homelessness, intercultural health, Travellers’ Health, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,and Transgender health (LGBT).
  • Continue to implement quality standards in both the statutory and voluntary-managed addiction services by
    enabling services to become QuADS (Quality in Addiction and Drug Services), or equivalent, compliant.
  • Continue to implement the National Drugs Strategy 2009-2016 actions in relation to treatment, rehabilitation and prevention.
  • Prioritise and implement recommendations of anticipated National Substance Misuse Strategy.
