Hepatitis C “Hidden Harm” Conference

Community Response is hosting the Hepatitis C “Hidden Harm” Conference on Friday 21st March, 2014. The conference is being chaired by Dr. Lelia Thornton, Health Protection Surveillance Centre.

Speakers on the day include:  Professor. Suzanne Norris, Consultant Hepatologist at St. James’s Hospital, Professor. Joe Barry, Chair of Population Health Medicine, Trinity College; Dr. John Dillon, University of Dundee, Mr. Gary Gahan, Co-ordinator of Harm Minimisation and Hepatitis C Programmes for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, and representatives of Hepatitis Scotland, Advocacy Group.

This conference is an opportunity to bring experiences from international evidence base in Hepatitis C service provision, and to stimulate the debate in Ireland; to promote a public health agenda around Hepatitis C, and highlight responsibilities for service providers, and to promote Hepatitis C awareness and current treatment options.

The event is open to everyone including medical professionals, public health workers, voluntary & community sector workers, researchers and service users.

There is no registration fee for the conference; however places are limited to 150. Therefore please register as soon as possible to ensure your place.

Also, we are delighted to announce an additional speaker, Dr. Shay Keating, Medical Officer at the Drug Treatment Centre Board in Dublin.
