Health Minister Simon Harris says new drink laws will help prevent cancer

Health Minister Simon Harris believes new alcohol laws will help prevent cancer with the Dail set to approve the legislation today.

Mr Harris says he is ‘really looking forward’ to passing the legislation through the Oireachtas, which will see cancer risk warning labels placed on drink.

He will now bring an amendment to the Public Health Alcohol Bill, which will see the new measure included after days of speculation that he would drop the proposed cancer labelling.
