French barman convicted over 56 shots that killed customer

Barman Gilles Crepin (47) admitted that he had encourage 56-year-old Renaud Prudhomme to try break the bar’s shots record while he was on a night out with his friends.

Following the record attempt, Mr Prudhomme took ill and had to be helped home. He was rushed to a hospital a few hours later where he died.

Mr Crepin was given a four-month suspended sentence and banned from working in a bar for a year.
