European drugs summer school 2014 registration opens today

The University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE–IUL) and the EMCDDA will be joining forces again in July 2014 to hold the third European summer school on ‘Illicit drugs in Europe: demand, supply and public policies’, which is also supported by the US National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).

Registration opens today, 15 January. Candidates who enrol in the first phase (before 15 March) get a reduction of 100 EUR (total fee 700 EUR). The programme fee includes tuition, course materials, canteen vouchers and a welcome reception. Additional optional events will be organised. More information will follow in the next EDSS update. Scholarships (50% reduction) are available for eligible students (see below).

The EDSS will take place in Lisbon from 30 June to 11 July. During the two-week programme, renowned keynote speakers, EMCDDA scientific experts, ISCTE professors and policymakers will give participants the information they need in order to meet the complex policy challenges occurring in this field. They will do so by using a multidisciplinary and inclusive approach to the study of the drugs problem, both in Europe and beyond.
