Coolmine call for more investment in addiction treatment

A conference has taken place at Trinity College this afternoon, to highlight the issues of children growing up around parents suffering with drug addiction.

Coolmine Thereputic have publish their 'Parents Under Pressure' programme report.

The conference titled 'Recovery through the lens of a child' revealed that four in ten Irish Children are affected by their parents substance use and up to 9 per-cent of children have guardians with problematic alcohol use.

The 'Parents under Pressure' programme helps supports those who are dependant on drugs or alcohol by providing them with methods of managing their emotions and supporting their childrens development.
