Consultation on Personal Possession of Illegal Drugs

A Working Group was established under the national drug strategy ‘Reducing Harm, Supporting Recovery’ to examine alternative approaches for the possession of illegal drugs for personal use.

The Working Group has been asked to make recommendations to Ministers for Health and Justice and Equality within 12 months.

To help inform their deliberations, the Working Group would like to receive the views of the public on the effectiveness of the current law and on what alternatives could be considered.
