Community initiative to tackle substance abuse

A new initiative to give communities throughout Mayo the tools and supports they need to deal with drug and alcohol misuse in a way that is right for them will be launched on Friday, February 10th.

The six simple step Community Harm Reducation Initiative is being rolled out by community liaison workers attached to the Western Region Drug Task Force across Mayo, Roscommon and Galway.

The design and thinking behind the initiative is based on tried and tested models already proving successful in select towns and areas across the three counties.
