Campaign sees significant drop in smoking teenagers

There has been a significant drop in the number of teenagers who smoke, according to a report from the 'Show Me ID' campaign.

The report says nearly one in ten (7.9%) of 15 to 17 year olds smoked last year, down from 1 in five (21%) in 1998.

The organisation trains retailers to identify young people who are not legally allowed to buy cigarettes.
Almost 2,500 shopkeepers accessed the service so far this year.
