There has been a worrying increase in drug dealing on the streets of Balbriggan in 2011 with an appalling 65% increase in the crime recorded in the first ten months of the year, according to Garda figures for the area which have been seen by the Fingal Independent.
The figures cover the period from January 1st to the end of October and are provisional statistics gathered by local gardaí detailing the incidence of various categories of crime in all the areas covered by Balbriggan Garda Station. The figures show an alarming increase in drug dealing over the same period in the previous year with a 65% rise in incidents involving the possession of drugs for sale or supply in the Balbriggan district.
