September is International Recovery month. The theme this year is
Recovery is for Everyone: Every Person, Every Family, Every community
During International Recovery month, the Recovery Academy of Ireland aim to:
- Shine a light on recovery
- Make recovery visible in communities
- Challenge stigma
- Highlight that recovery is possible
- Show that recovery is cause for celebration

Leave a light on
This year, the Recovery Academy of Ireland have teamed up with the International Recovery Day 2020 Committee to shine a light on recovery by lighting up buildings around the country in purple, the colour that which traditionally represents recovery.
The Recovery Academy of Ireland ask that
“people in recovery, addiction recovery services, family and friends come out and support the event by walking from the different buildings that will be lit up on the night, sharing your pictures and showing your support for this event. #leavealighton”
