Initial findings from HSE Safer Nightlife Programme 2023

We provided the HSE Safer Nightlife Programme at Life Festival, Body and Soul and Electric Picnic Festival this summer. This Programme involved harm reduction outreach and ‘Back of house’ substance analysis led by the HSE National Drug Treatment Centre. A number of drugs are still being analysed by the lab and the full results will be published at a later date.

Results

  1. Non-judgmental point of contact
  2. Information about drugs and their interactions
  3. How to reduce harm and emergencies
  4. Support for people impacted by emergencies
  5. Support on mental health and general wellbeing at the event
  6. Outreach and intervention in campsites
  7. Liaising with medical providers
  8. Discussing trends of concern and warnings
  9. Distribution of water bottles, lip balm, bags and information resources
